Our Pastor

Dr. Ralph M. McCormick is a native of Lubbock, Texas. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Government from the School of Liberal Arts in 1992. In 1995, he was called by God into the preaching ministry and in 1996 received his preaching license while preparing to attend Seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. McCormick was ordained in 1998 and in December of 2000 he completed theological studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, where he obtained a Master of Divinity Degree (M. Div.) from the School of Theology.

Prior to his pastorate, Dr. McCormick served as Youth Minister of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas and later relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina to serve as Minister of Youth at University Park Baptist Church, where Bishop Claude R. Alexander Jr. is pastor. While serving as Minister of Youth at University Park, Dr. McCormick was also responsible for leading the Men’s Ministry.

On March 9, 2003, Dr. McCormick began his tenure as Pastor of Second Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he serves to this day. He teaches Bible study, emphasizes biblical principles, and equips believers with the necessary tools to handle the practical issues of life. Dr. McCormick has been keynote speaker in several Seminars, Workshops, and Worship Services. Dr. McCormick continued his Theological Studies in 2006 and graduated in May, 2011 from Gordon-Conwell with a Doctorate in Ministry (DMin.) in The Preacher and the Message. Dr. McCormick is married to Mrs. LaKeisha McCormick.
